Episode 3 Trailer
Brief Episode Description
As Xiao Mei is approaching the end of her educational journey, she begins to look around for jobs to take up and hopefully secure a stable career. But what can make her resume stand out? How will she be able to secure a job in this trying time? In the UK, she began to interact with her peers and established some connections that may bode very well for future job opportunities. Afterwards, Xiao Mei debates with Rando about whether or not having studied abroad would contribute to one’s increased probability of employment.
This episode explores the issues and worries of fresh graduates regarding the topic of employment. In particular, the qualities that hiring companies are looking for and skills that might be helpful to gain an advantage in the job hunting process.
Our guest for this episode, Yee Yond kindly shares her own journey graduating into a pandemic as well as an already declining job market. Yee Yond is a student that has graduated from an Australian University in August 2020 and she is currently working in Malaysia. She goes into the matter of employment after graduation and how one’s field of study affects the job opportunities. Yee Yond also reassures the graduating batch that they are not alone in their uncertainty on entering the labour force during a global pandemic. This is in view of the fact that adaptability, a skill she has learned abroad, seems to be the key to success.
