    Episode 4: Cheers, Mate!

 Episode 4 Trailer

 Detailed Episode Description

In this episode, Xiao Mei’s chapter in the UK comes to an end along with her university life upon graduation. As she basks in the sun, she is promptly interrupted by her concerned friend, Rando as she attempts to regularly check up on her after her last shady job encounter. While they chat, Xiao Mei informs Rando about the upcoming farewell party her friends will be holding for her later that night in the local pub and expresses her drinking predicament: “To drink, or not to drink?” The prevalent drinking culture in the UK is further explored.

In a discussion with Lin, she shares her alcohol-related encounters in both Malaysia and the UK. Indulging in alcoholic beverages is a big part of the night life in the UK, and evidently plays a big part in their social life. Meanwhile in Malaysia, interactions with friends do not put much emphasis on the presence of alcohol and seem to always involve some sort of food-related endeavours such as Pasar Malam, Mamak, Boba Teas and Karaoke. Moreover, Lin mentions that people’s perceptions of intoxicated individuals may be linked back to the drinking culture of that society.

In the end, Xiao Mei eventually makes the decision to attend her own farewell party tee-total at the local pub, which might or might not have a pleasant surprise in store for her.
